These terms cover your use of this website and the services LYIS offers through it. By using the site you agree to them. Membership and courses have their own terms of sale, which we send with the booking confirmation.

Using the site

You may read, print and share links to anything published here for personal and professional use.
Articles on the Principal’s Blog are the work of their named authors and may not be republished without permission. Short quotations with attribution and a link are welcome.
The LYIS name, badge and the names LYIS-Q and LYIS-L belong to LYIS and may not be used to suggest endorsement without our written agreement.
Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its servers or any member area.

Membership

Membership is for one year from the date we confirm your place and is personal to you.
The membership fee for each tier is shown on the Membership page. We will tell you about any change at least a month before your renewal date.
Member pricing on courses and priority registration for events apply while your membership is current.
You can cancel within 14 days of paying for a full refund, provided you have not yet used member pricing or attended a member event. After that, membership runs to the end of the year and is not refunded.
We may end a membership, with a pro-rata refund, if a member behaves in a way that harms other members or the organisation.

Courses and events

Places are confirmed when we have received payment or an agreed purchase order.
Course and event dates and venues may change for reasons outside our control. If we cancel, you receive a full refund of fees paid to LYIS. We are not responsible for travel or accommodation costs.

What LYIS-Q is

LYIS-Q is a twelve-month programme designed and led by experienced international school leaders. It is not a degree, a licence to practise, or a registration with any professional body, and it does not confer letters after your name. Its value is the confidence and the evidence it gives you to take your next step.

Content and liability

We take care to keep the site accurate, but articles express their authors’ views and nothing here is professional advice for your particular situation. To the extent the law allows, LYIS is not liable for loss arising from reliance on the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
