I am Tilly Erguder, MYP DP Principal at the Canadian International School of Hefei and an IBEN Program Leader with 30 years of experience in education, including 28 years in K-12 administration. I speak English and Turkish, hold a Bachelor of Arts in English and a master’s degree in educational management, and I am currently pursuing the NPQEL qualification while working towards obtaining my ICF ACC (Associate Certified Coach) designation.

Ethical leadership is at the heart of my professional philosophy. I value integrity, respect, trust and empathy— shaped by the challenges I have transformed into opportunities throughout my life. I am passionate about the IB philosophy and practices and am dedicated to nurturing globally minded, and caring inquirers. I believe that education is a journey in which our duty is to empower students to realize their potential, discover their interests, and develop the competencies necessary to become lifelong learners. Under inspirational, motivational, and innovative leadership, students flourish.

My decision to work internationally and move to China—a country rich in beauty and culture—was driven by a desire to step outside my comfort zone, embrace uncertainty, and challenge myself. Ultimately, also served as a role model for my son, demonstrating the importance of perseverance and strength.

As a proud mother, my commitment extends beyond the professional realm. My son, Umut, is pursuing his dream by doing his masters in Computer Science at the University of Luxembourg and I believe that my personal, educational, and administrative approach—honed over many years—has greatly contributed to his success and empowered him to follow his passion. I am excited to continue using my expertise to empower individuals and teams to reach their full potential.

Beyond my professional pursuits, I am an eager reader, constantly seeking knowledge and inspiration. My latest passion is coaching. I also enjoy playing tennis, walking, swimming, and diving, each bringing its own unique energy and challenges. My curiosity fuels my love for travel, as I enjoy discovering new places, meeting people from diverse backgrounds, and immersing myself in different cultures.  Whether through sports, books, or travel, I am always seeking experiences that broaden my perspective and add excitement to my journey.
